( CNN) A low-carb or high-carb diet creates your risk of death, a new survey indicates, with people feeing the food staple in moderation find the greatest benefits to their health.

The lowest risk of an early death was seen where carbs made up 50 -5 5% of a person’s diet, according to the study published Thursday .

However, the definition contained in a low-carb diet had some caveats as not all diets were equal.
