Here we have a boy playing with his sister, tickling her and constructing her chuckle. Then the son spots something odd in his sisters mouth. Shocked, he then immediately tells his mom what he saw.
The 11 -year-old boy, Aaron, from the UK noticed the oddity in his 7-year-old sister Amys mouth while tickling her, stimulating her laugh, and thus she opened her mouth broad. Aaron immediately told his mama what he saw. His mama came and seemed, and indeed there seemed to be growths on the back of the girls throat.
Heres what mommy had to say 😛 TAGEND
Amy and Aaron were just playing tickle ogres in the other room when Aaron has looked down Amys throat while she was chuckling and ensure the growth and thought thats not right. My first believed when Aaron showed me Amys throat was that it was a tumor.
Mom was not going to take any chances, especially after an uncle had just passed from cancer. Straight to the emergency room they went.
The mother explains her importance 😛 TAGEND
In my view, waiting until Monday morning was not an option and I had a knot in my belly when I was going to the hospital but had to keep it together and remain strong for the kids. I could just feel that something was wrong straightaway.
Indeed the Doctors at University College Hospital London ended up removing parts of the mass from Amys throat. They then sent them to the lab for testing and research results were positive for rhabdomyosarcoma, which is a rare childhood cancer. It involves striated muscle tissue.
The little girl is now undergoing chemo, then will head to the US for treatment options. The household has set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenditures and to try to be in the best posture possible to beat this disease.
For now, awareness is what the mother wants to do considering Rhabdomyosarcoma. She is telling mothers to check their kids mouths for any odd growths present.
The cause of rhabdomyosarcoma is not known in most of the cases.
The symptoms result where the cancer forms and the warning signs are the following 😛 TAGEND
Lump or swelling that keeps getting bigger, does not go away. Perhaps painful.
Bulging of the eye.
Trouble urinating or having bowel movements.
Blood in the urine.
Bleeding in the nose, throat, vagina, or rectum.
In order to find this illnes, diagnostic tests and a biopsy are used.
Here are the tests and procedures that can be administered 😛 TAGEND
Physical exam and history: General signs of health, checking for signs of illnes, checking for hunks or any other unusual things. Health history and habits is encompassed as well as past sickness and treatment.
X-ray: Organs and bones inside the body are looked at.
CT scan( CAT scan ): Detailed pictures of areas inside the body are captured. The abdomen or pelvis for example with different angles being shown.
Very scary situation, but thankfully Aaron spotted it when he did, thus devoting Amy the best chances for beating this. Lets all hope this little girl does beat this and goes on to living a full and healthy life.
Heres what brother Aaron has told us 😛 TAGEND
I was really guilty at first because I didnt understand much of what I saw but now I feel pretty proud that I have found it. I didnt know what to do at first but then I realised that I needed to let a responsible adult know so I ran to mummy and Im happy I did. It was pretty scary for me and Amy.
Heres what sister Amy had to say 😛 TAGEND
I feel happy that my brother find it and he is my hero now.
